With cool mustache.

PS: I’d need to adopt.

This might be the right thing to do.

I prefer the idea of an 1896 horizontal.

But to make the theme a little wider we could include vintages from all those years when a Scot was the losing finalist - apart from 2012 which is too difficult to get hold of at the moment.

Or, Brit rather than Scot, we could include 1934, 1935, and (very hard to find) 1936.

What about 1977...? Who's afraid of Virginia Wade?

If you want it to be easy, Fred Perry died in 1995.

You could have a nice line-up of ports using post-war* dates of significance for British champions of Wimbledon...

1945: Virginia Wade, 1977 Wimbledon ladies' singles champion, is born

1955: Angela Mortima and Anne Shilcock become Wimbledon ladies' doubles champions. Mortima subsequently became Wimbledon ladies' singles champion in 1961

1969: Ann Haydon-Jones becomes Wimbledon mixed doubles champion

1977: Virginia Wade wins Wimbledon ladies' singles championship

1981: Jonny Marray, 2012 Wimbledon men's doubles champion, is born. Angela Baxton, winner of the 1956 Wimbledon ladies' doubles championship, is inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame

1983: John Lloyd wins his first of two consecutive Wimbledon mixed doubles championships

1987: Andy Murray is born, Jeremy Bates and Jo Durie win the Wimbledon mixed double championships

1995: Fred Perry dies

2007: Jamie Murray becomes Wimbledon mixed doubles champion
