It seems to me that there are more posts on (simple) tawnies than on 10yot.
How comes?
(I´m asking, because I prefer the 10yrs )
10yot vs. tawny
Re: 10yot vs. tawny
what do you mean simple tawnies?
I personally find the extra 10$ going towards a 20 yr old is more worthwhlie so I'll pick up more of those and usually skip teh 10s

Re: 10yot vs. tawny
Can you post a couple of examples?
I don't think I've ever seen heated discussion about basic tawnies on this site!!
however, I'm sure we're all guilty of lazy reference to "tawnies" as a generic category covering all wood-aged ports, includiong the basic tawnies, the different indications of age, and even colheitas...

I found few entries for 10y (one post per port as average),
and it seems that there are relatively many NV - related posts.

Re: 10yot vs. tawny
I agree there aren't so many 10Yr/20Yr/30Yr/40Yr reviews, but there are even fewer "simple" or basic tawny reviews! I could only find a couple in the whole database.
Many of the "NV" reviews also relate to crusted ports, rubies, and reserves (and even mis-labelled 10yr reviews - such as the Taylor NV tawny review!).
I suppose this is a product of the fact that the tasting notes are predominantly posted by people (or from events) that focus on vintage ports, though plenty of people here drink all sorts of tawnies (particularly 10Y-40Yr) and colheitas regularly, and some even prefer them to vintage port....
