A Question of Port - A Fine Wine Tutored Tasting £95

If you’ve always questioned your knowledge of this great British post-prandial sport, look no further to find the answers. This evening, the knowledgeable Anne McHale will guide you through the intricate details of Port production and explain the whys and wherefores of the fascinatingly diverse styles. Upon arrival we will do our very best to make you forget the cold February evening and transport you to a summer’s day on the Douro, with a traditional Port grower’s aperitif of white Port and tonic. Throughout the evening Anne will show you every style of port, ranging from Ruby Reserve through to complex aged Tawny and mature Vintage. You will also have the chance to try the Ports with a range of tasty nibbles, ranging from dark chocolate to a classic British Stilton.

Wines to be tasted:

Quinta de la Rosa White Port
Berrys’ St James’s Finest Reserve Port, Quinta de la Rosa
Berrys’ Crusted Port, Bottled 2004
2005 Berrys’ Own Selection Late Bottled Vintage Port, Quinta do Noval
Berrys’ William Pickering, 20-Year-Old Tawny Port
Quinta do Noval, 40-Year-Old Tawny Port
2007 Berrys’ Vintage Port, Graham
1994 Quinta do Vesuvio
1977 Warre
Not the most interesting line-up compared to other of BBR's recent tasting, and since this comes it at the same price as the Noval/Nacional tasting hosted by Christian Seely last year, I do not think I will attend.
