Pretty good going within one day of startup. Ronnie's contributions to the TNs cannot be understated. With a bit of luck a few more of our friends will signup and we might even get onto Google!

Carry on like this and we will have 3000 per month.

I help administer a local Golf Club, and a webpage designer did a Club Site
http://huytonandprescotgolf.co.uk
The reason I mentioned it, was because they said it would take a few weeks, but would then start to be picked up by the big search engines. And it did.
Will this not happen with our site, or do you have to give it a push somehow???

It was registered with them last night but should take a few days for them to run the engines. Give it a week or so and keep posting.

I will proceed with the TN thingy tomorrow. It's a lot of fun reading through all these old TN's of ports, some of which I didn't even remember having tasted. Now I have to go and drink Portonics and beers together with Stevie and LadyR. That's not to be understated either.

BTW, I'm looking forward to find out what's after a Cockburn's Ruby, therefore this utterly useless post.

You will find out in eight posts for you, five for me.

TPF has been listed in ODP

TPF is now listed in The Open Directory Project (though might take a few hours to appear). When google next takes a copy of the ODP’s free data it will appear in the Google directory. Both of these will help the search engine rankings.

Derek,

Who lent you a sense of humour? Very good.

Well - that means 6000 per month. Ok, I accept that this may just be one big startup day but it is pretty good.

Still on track. We need to get some more people in though rather than just being a closed shop. Need some marketing.

Agreed - any suggestions?

Nope - I'm crap at marketing.

I've left a link on WS and submitted it to search engines. The best thing is one way links from elsewhere but can't think - Aussie Shiraz.

You keep thinking and I'll keep posting TN's - send me a PM to get my attention if you have a brainwave - drink port, it helps

This suggestion doesn't get new folk in, but might make a few more stay when they find us.
Within the Port Section, I think we should have a few more 'Basic Informmation Posts, like my History one. Another few obvious subjects would be Decanting,Reference Books available,Standard Port Catorgories, etc, etc.
If its just me, no problems, but I feel it will help a beginner grasp the basics, before diving in with questions, etc.

I don't want to stick too mant sections in, it's never a good idea. I still think that there should be a food area but don't want to overload the front page.
