2008 Vintage Port Declarations
2008 Vintage Port Declarations
As 2008 is clearly not going to be a generally declared vintage the title of this thread is perhaps slightly misleading as the vintage ports from off-vintages are often described as being "Released" rather than "Declared". Regardless of the merits of one or the other description, I thought it would be useful to have a thread to record which shippers are producing a vintage port from the 2008 vintage.
To start the ball rolling I have recieved confirmation from each of the relevant shippers that the following 2008 vintage ports will be released:
Alves de Souza
Churchill Gricha (silver medal in 2010 DWWA Awards)
Duorum
Duorum Vinha de Castelo Melhor
Fonseca Guimaraens [Factsheet]
Hooper
Kopke Sao Luiz
Niepoort Pisca (at least some of which has been bottled as Niepoort Bioma Vinha Velha)
Quinta da Romaneira
Quinta das Carvalhas
Quinta de Roriz
Quinta de Santa Eufemia
Quinta de Senhora da Ribeira from Dow
Quinta de Terra Feita from Taylor [Factsheet]
Quinta de Vargellas from Taylor [Factsheet]
Quinta do Crasto
Quinta do Roeda from Croft [Factsheet]
Quinta do Bomfim from Dow
Quinta do Estanho
Quinta do Noval
Quinta do Panascal from Fonseca [Factsheet]
Quinta do Vale Meao
Quinta do Vesuvio
Quinta dos Canais from Cockburn
Quinta dos Malvedos from Graham
Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo
Quinta Vale D'Agodinho from Quevedo [Factsheet]
Real Companhia Velha
Rozes
Vista Alegre
Please post away as and when you find confirmation that a particular wine has been produced.

Re: 2008 Vintage Port Declarations
Thanks for the info, Derek. Unfortunately the IVDP is not too much of a helping hand here.

Re: 2008 Vintage Port Declarations
Aside from DRT's indication that he was told they would be releasing it, I can only find two other references, both wine sellers who are "out of stock":
(1) here and here
(2) here
The bottle image in (1) is suspect, showing no vintage. The image in (2) is as would be expected/consistent with neighbouring vintages, though it looks like a stock image.

Would you like me to ask? I know people at Sogevinus.
