Vesuvio Vertical - 23rd Feb 2010 - The Epilogue

Post by DRT »

After clearing up the debris of the Vesuvio Vertical I said goodbye to Christopher and jdaw1 and headed for the Cumberland Hotel, just a few hundred yards from the NCC. 19 glasses of port (plus some "sweeping up") had left me thirsty so I checked in and headed straight to the very busy bar. A glass of girls beer (lager) lasted but a few short minutes and, as I ordered a second, I noticed two open bottles of Vintage Port behind the bar. My first thought was "would that be a tasting or an off-line"?

I immediately sent a message to jdaw1 asking for an answer to the question "what is a man to do?" but no response was forthcoming. I therefore made a unilateral decision to take one for the team. £19 later I had two over-filled glasses of vintage port sat in front of me. My thoughts are posted in these links:
