Some good discounts
I was scanning the shelves of a Gall&Gall (=the Dutch version of Oddbins) and noticed that a couple of VP's had a 25% discount: Graham's 1997 (from 60 to 45), Dow's 2000 (from 55 to 41) and Passadouro 1999 (from 40 to 30). I was tempted to buy the Dow's 2000 when I spotted a loose bottle of Quinta do Vesuvio 1997. It didn't have the discount sticker, but when I asked, the shop manager was friendly enough to give the discount anyway. Instead of 60 I paid 45. Good service and a very happy customer!

Stevie: I think this was an individual action. When I made a little chat with the shop manager he talked about not wanting to have these kind of bottles in his shop for too long. Well, I don't mind about that... Now, if I only had some money to spare (and didn't waste all on a stupid renovation of our house ) I could buy the Dow's and Graham's too...

Alan: Indeed a pity it wasn't the '94... That one is extremely hard to find for a decent price. I'm still cursing myself for the one time I passed on a great deal on a full case. I thought I had already bought enough (in the same deal I bought 11 bottles of Taylor 77, 10 bottles of Fonseca 85 and two mags of Taylor 70), and when I came back after a couple of months, the Vesuvio was -of course- sold...
