A Quick Introduction
Posted: 21:36 Fri 23 Jan 2009
Per the suggestion from jdawl, I'm taking a quick moment to introduce myself. I've often considered joining this forum, prompted by the many fine postings made on the Wine Spectator Forum, by some of the members here. I just felt that now is as good a time as any.
While I don't consider myself a true 'Porthead' like many likely here, I do have a love for it indeed and enjoy a handful throughout the year. While I suppose I would consider the '77 Taylor Fladgate and the 77 Fonseca as my favorite Ports overall, I will be quick to admit that my exposure to Port is somewhat limited compared to other types of wine and I've not experienced some of the older greats nor some of the younger ones (some of which I do own, just let lay).
So, I respectfully say 'hello' and look forward to reading, conversing and, of course, sharing Ports in the future with several of you here. In the end, my endeavor is to humbly listen to so many here, soak in your recommendations and knowledge, learning more about this fine wine and possibly starting some great friendships.
Located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, I spend a lot of time back and forth to the States, for business and pleasure, and often get together with some very fine friends made on the other Forum. Wine is very social to me. To be paired with food and shared with friends. I look forward to meeting many of you here.
Cheers.
