1977 Croft
Croft 1977, decanted 4.5 hours. This is a Port in a lovely place at the moment. Glowing, polished ruby in colour and so expressive on the nose! The nose brings sweet cherry fruit, layered with mace and allspice, and so much more. Tobacco, aniseed and dried cranberry on the palate - bright with acidity, dry around the edges. Dried cranberry, hints of honey and a fabulous lingering aniseed finish. Showing beautifully. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Re: 1977 Croft
Outside of duff bottles caused by cork issues, ‘77 was another vintage where one had to work hard at not making a good VP. Thanks for the note!Alex Bridgeman wrote:
