1997 Quevedo Colheita (bottled 2023)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Q97c, bottled in 2023 in 10cl for the 2023 advent calendar. Dark bronzed red with a wide rim. A little bottle stink on the nose, generous râncio and slowly emerging dates and molasses. A wonderful presence on the palate, big and bold, full of citrus flavours with generous acidity and sprinkled with green tannins that catch the edges of the tongue. Firm and full of confidence. Lovely acidity, big citrus oil finish. Age in wood has given this wine a wonderful concentration, with everything needed to continue to develop for many years to come. 93/100. Drunk 30-Dec-23. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
