2009 Quevedo Sample Touriga Nacional

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

In 2009 Quevedo bottled some of their Vintage Port varietals in quarter bottles. The following notes are for the wines on a Pop and Pour basis.

Touriga Nacional: a very peculiar nose, strained fruit compote of red and black fruit. Fruit on the palate, but a bit thin, distorted by the acidity. A little baked and with faint bitter tannins. Lovely fresh red fruit on the aftertaste, but which fades quickly. Very light bodied and delicate, but extremely pleasant.  87/100 Tasted 03-Mar-23. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
