40% opacity, red amber. Red fruit - strawberry. Rich, syrupy. Strawberry and pepper, lip-licking finish and just a hint of dryness.

Opened at 10.00, decanted at 13.00 and drunk at 20.30. Deep red but mature in tone; 30% opaque. Delicious on the nose, lots of fruit but some hints of harshness and definite freshness to the red fruit. Smooth and very fruity on the palate with rich and luscious mature fruit. Balanced so well with pleasant acidity. Rich and fragrant aftertaste with some green edges to the lingering and tasty sweet fruit. Served blind, this was guessed to be Gould Campbell 1966. 92/100. Decanted 7½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
