1992 Dow Quinta do Bomfin
A little paler than would be optically ideal. Pungent dry wine-y nose. Big burly wine. Good fruit, but extremely dry.

Consumed 6/4/22.

Attractive mature red, 80% opaque. Sweet blackcurrant nose with a lovely fragrance. Smooth entry, warm blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, a big fruit palate which is chunky and bold. Delicious black cherry finish with hints of tannins although the structured fruit dominates. Very impressive and still quite young. 90/100. Tasted 06-Apr-22. Decanted 10½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I liked the intensity of fruit on the palate however I found the nose a little closed. Fruity, with cherry, cranberries and prune and a medium+ finish. Very OK, just a little closed on the nose. 89/100, Tasted 06-Apr-22.

45% opacity, mature red. Nose a bit stinky, mushroom, truffle. Dryness, feels a bit over-evolved.
