Or 60 @ 65 maybe?
Or 70 @ 55. Oh...I'm supposed to be sorting that one...

Given we've only recently done probably the largest ever tasting of 55s, not sure there's a rush for that. And I think CEM is considering do it again anyway.

70@55 v 55@70. What a hedonistic, huge, indulgent night that would be! Has the ‘palindrome effect’ seen here on these two fine vintages occurred before for other great Port years?

I would fly back to London in 2025 for either 1945 or 1955, and even have bottles that I could contribute to either tasting.

1965 and 1975 ... probably not.

I would love to do another 1985 horizontal, but a "mere" 40 years young is probably pushing the limit of what's necessary to get me to fly to London. Unless SCP-DFS is interested in doing something and we could work out the timing. 2024 is my year for a "special" birthday... hers follows in 2025 so she really gets to set the schedule. I suspect I could get away with a solo trip for 1945 or 1955 but probably not the others.

Should we be thinking about a 1945 @ 80 tasting next year?
Do we have sufficient bottles?
Would it be prohibitively expensive?
Full event for 14 or smaller event?

If we want to do this then I'm happy to organise.
I appreciate it is a long way away but I would definitely be interested in a 1945 tasting next year. I have bottles from 4 different producers. 1935 sounds good too but I only have Croft to offer.

This madness, now a decade old, should not be forgotten.

Thank you Boswell! I’ve forgotten so many of my best ideas, but that doesn’t mean the pressure’s off!
