A sample taken from the bottle at the Boot & Flogger which was first Coravin'ed in February 2019. Modest red in colour, brick in tone and around 70% opaque. Very little on the nose when first extracted out of the bottle but after 15 minutes in the glass this started to open up to reveal baked fruits of the forest and a hint of sweet cigar tobacco, intriguing and attractive. Initially a little fiery on the palate when first out of the bottle, after patience in the glass this became a delicate and balanced fruit-forward palate of dried sour cherry. Strong acidity hits the throat on the aftertaste before a wonderful purple perfume floats diaphanously over the roof of the mouth. Rather lovely and astonishing for a bottle filled with Argon for so long. Drunk 90/100. 17-Mar-20.
