Hello,
I’m looking for information, value on this bottle of port as there isn’t a date on it.

Hi portnewbie, and welcome to :tpf:

I'm afraid that the bottle you have is worth very little, as it is an old bottle of what is now called "ruby reserve" (the producers are now no longer allowed to use the term "vintage character" to avoid confusion with actual vintage port). As such, you can see it has a T-stopper, and was intended for immediate consumption when bottled many years ago (I can't remember when the rules changed regarding the "vintage character" wording - can another TPF-er help on that?). Your bottle will probably still be drinkable, but will likely be thin and sweet, and has little to no value except as a curiosity; perhaps worth £5, and thus likely less than the cost of postage.

Vintage Character was outlawed by the IVDP in 2002. One of the pictures of the back label says that the Port was shipped to Seagram. This means it must have been produced between 1979 and 2000. From the style of label, barcoding, etc I would think it is from the latter part of that period so is probably now 20-30 years old.

As Phil has already explained it has no value and would be best drunk sooner rather than later.

It was bottled sometime around the early to mid 1990's. As mentioned, worth basically nothing.

Nothing to add to the above expertise, except a request that, after drinking it, you post a tasting note.

Thank you.
