Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Please consider me in, and am happy to contribute a large format of either Fonseca or Taylor.
There is, however, a relatively high chance that my attendance may be of a Jeremy Bentham sort, with reviews stating:

Unless the Bung Hole changes its tables between now and the big day (thread), we might need a different venue.

I've got Vieira de Sousa, Morgadio da Calçada (Niepoort), and Barão de Vilar to offer up, although these might be better suited to an earlier tasting. I have others as well, but these were my more unique offerings thus far.
I tried to mark my calendar, but it seems Google Calendar has a bug as it moved my event entry to 2050 despite my best efforts.

I have all three super cuvees - GST, VVV, VC. I will have to strictly ration, though, as I only have 11 bottles, 2 bottles, and 4 bottles respectively.

Re: 2011 Horizontal - London, 23rd April 2051
That is a good plan. On 24th April 2051 you will only have 10, 1 and 3 bottles remaining. Do not throw them away so recklessly after that otherwise you might run outGlenn E. wrote:I have all three super cuvees - GST, VVV, VC. There is an earlier tasting for SQVPs - can't remember the date, I think only 25 years hence...foomench wrote:I've got Vieira de Sousa, Morgadio da Calçada (Niepoort), and Barão de Vilar to offer up, although these might be better suited to an earlier tasting. Re: 2011 Horizontal - London, 23rd April 2051
I'll keep myself on this thread as I can also supply Tayloy, Fonseca, Niepoort, Quevedo, Smith Woodhouse, Vesuvio, Noval, and Vale D. Maria as necessary. (I also purchased Dow, but as I don't possess it yet, I can't promise that.) I'll check on that other tasting in about 20 years to see if a few of these could go to that as well. The Vieira de Sousa and Barão de Vilar aren't SQVPs. I'll have to check the label on the Morgadio. I don't think it is technically a single quinta, but it might be the closest to qualifying. Of course if the intent of the earlier tasting is just to try things that might not go the distance ...djewesbury wrote:There is an earlier tasting for SQVPs - can't remember the date, I think only 25 years hence...foomench wrote:I've got Vieira de Sousa, Morgadio da Calçada (Niepoort), and Barão de Vilar to offer up, although these might be better suited to an earlier tasting. Sorry, yes, that was me being imprecise - SQVPs, smaller or newer brands - admirably summed up as 'things that might not go the distance' in fact.foomench wrote:I'll keep myself on this thread as I can also supply Tayloy, Fonseca, Niepoort, Quevedo, Smith Woodhouse, Vesuvio, Noval, and Vale D. Unfortunately, this purchase was not honoured due to over-allocation by the producer. Can someone else please step up?DRT wrote:Quinta do Vale Meao (DRT)

Count me in...
I can bring a Bottle of GST 2011 and also a magnum of Fonseca 2011. Also for a special treat I have some Waitrose (symington) 2011 I can supply too, if you want to up the quality stakes!
I hope to see you all there.

I've been waiting for just over two years for Derek to update the first post; I see he (or someone) has done this, but only based on very recent posts.djewesbury wrote:I have just noticed that the first post does not reflect what everyone (eg THRA) has said they'll be bringing. I started, and then had other things to do. It will be resumed.
Perhaps you want to suggest a flighting plan.

With 426 months to go I didn't think we were in too much of a rush to finalise the planningPhilW wrote:I've been waiting for just over two years for Derek to update the first post; I see he (or someone) has done this, but only based on very recent posts.djewesbury wrote:I have just noticed that the first post does not reflect what everyone (eg THRA) has said they'll be bringing. But if we book the venue now we should be able to get our first choice of room.DRT wrote:With 426 months to go I didn't think we were in too much of a rush to finalise the planningPhilW wrote:I've been waiting for just over two years for Derek to update the first post; I see he (or someone) has done this, but only based on very recent posts.djewesbury wrote:I have just noticed that the first post does not reflect what everyone (eg THRA) has said they'll be bringing. Hopefully I will get added once editing has resumed.jdaw1 wrote:I started, and then had other things to do. It will be resumed.
In addition to all 3 super cuvees, I also have Vieira de Sousa and Quevedo (6L, 1.5L, 750mm, 375mm). Though the smaller Quevedo bottles are likely to be consumed before 2051.

Re: 2011 Horizontal - London, 23rd April 2051
I will almost certainly have to send out my daughter as my 'runner' (I briefed her the other day but Peppa Pig was on and so not sure how much she digested) but of those not currently listed I can offer both Burmester and Churchill in Mags and RP in standard.
Re: 2011 Horizontal - London, 23rd April 2051
The organiser has been slack about updating the first post, so I have done it, at least in part. And somehow there are nineteen people who want to play. I have cut the reserve list, as is traditional, at 14 people, but it seems, ahem, likely, that there will be spaces for all those currently on the reserve list (which is not the same thing as saying that all will attend).
The list of Ports has not yet been finalised.
The organiser needs to make a policy decision about this. Your ‘runner’ is a port enthusiast not attending. DRT: pronounce!idj123 wrote:I will almost certainly have to send out my daughter as my 'runner'
