2003 Grange

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From magnum. Deep red with an opaque centre. Beautiful perfumed nose, complex and interesting. This has a delightful balance on entry with sweet and lifted flavours that covers a range of soft black and soft red fruit. The tannins arrive late but are big and very burly. Once they arrive they don't go away! A tannic aftertaste resolves quickly to give way to a delicious finish of oak, tannins and great levels of fruit. 95/100. Drunk 27-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
