Dear Phil, thanks for your help. It didn't work though :(
But since it is Lent, not using Tapatalk might be my type of fasting. I wouldn't like to give up on wine :)

What apps do you use to crop and compress pictures before posting? I can't seem to find a simple one that does both easily.

Advice on uploading photos when selling Port

Post by djewesbury »

On a Mac, Preview does this admirably. If I'm on a mobile device I don't usually use any other app but Tapatalk seems to take care of things and allows me to crop.. Image

Tapatalk seems to work only on Mac/Iphone, but not on Android. I still get the error message that the account does not exists when I try to log in with my TPF details (but as a compensation, if I try to register anew, I'm always told that this profile is already in use). Yours sincerely, Josef K.

I prefer the uncropped one.

Dear K
Yes it is very temperamental. Have you tried deleting all your data, changing your name, going to live in a new city and reinstalling? Sometimes this works.

I deleted Tapatalk, rebooted, installed Tapatalk again. Still it doesn't work.
To keep the metaphor: Someone must have slandered me. I fear that the port police will arrest me tomorrow morning. (I guess for drinking my port too young.) :)

When you see that your account here has been deleted, that will be your warning. From then you will have approximately 27 minutes.

Please may I move the preceding posts to the TapaTalk thread to avoid potential sellers thinking we are a bit weird?

Sure, go ahead. We wouldn't want to scare away any port sellers.

FWIW, I'm also using Tapatalk these days - though from an Android device, as I didn't want to pay 5x the price for an Apple product a device that wouldn't allow me to put whatever files I wanted onto it ;)

Does anyone know how to switch off completely the 'Feed' in the current version of Tapatalk? I want the app to open on the :tpf: timeline, not the useless feed. I have emptied it but still can't switch it off.

Tapatalk did a new version about a month ago, adding a click to the sequence to get to TPF. Is that what you mean? Because I also hate it.

Precisely. I found an options menu to remove content from the Feed but no way of disabling it.

I hate it too. And I also hate that I now get adverts.

Settings (gear in the upper right corner) -> Tab Behaviour -> Profile

Not perfect, but at least it makes it easier to ignore the feed.

The placemat software is free, but has never had adverts. And it gets better and better over time.

True. But freeware on the scale of TapaTalk is seldom (as in never) quite so philanthropic.

I followed Glenn's advice and yet the damned Feed still opens when I re-open Tapatalk after it's timed out.

I get no ads, so it's possible I have the Pro version and that the ability to open directly to the forum choice screen is restricted to Pro users.
