I see no problem in having Graham 1970 and Cockburn 1970 in a 1983 line-up.

Shock news: The Real Vinicola 1983 did not smell like vomit when I decanted it.

I see a deficiency in having no G83 in a 1983 line-up.

Wine Society 1983, opened 12:30, recently re-corked, seemed to be good condition. Dark red, maybe 60% opaque, nose mostly closed but a little fruit showing. Bodes well.

Roeda 1983, also opened 12:30, cork extracted whole, not so optimistic. Brown-pink, 30% opaque, and nose somewhat stinky.

Let's say the usual unless and keep it simple. Upstairs first? Or just see you down there?

Placemats printed.

Helen at The Bung Hole, by email, wrote:Hi Julian,

I hope you're well. Will you be here this evening with the port forum? If so, I was wondering how many glasses you will require and whether you'd like to dine off our Christmas set menu?

I have attached our set menu for you with our pre order form in an excel spreadsheet that you can forward along to those who will be dining. Not to worry if you can't get an order.

Churchill Agua Alta 1983 decanted at 2½pm. Pale, pink, maybe 20% opaque. No nose. But the taste was sufficient that it might yet grow.

Daniel and Rachel arrive at Old Nick. Lunch party still in meeting room (office?) at TBH. Cookie: me - bearded, bespectacled, dark hair, in possession of placemats.

Which 6 did you bring? I try to make a note of the decanting times for my tasting notes.

Ian - what time did you decant the Cockburn?

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Alex, the Cockburn had to be decanted at 8am. Incidentally, I went back to the offending bottle of G83 as you suggested and whilst not tip-top it was certainly drinkable-although not as good as the Cockburn.
