Strawberry and victoria plum on the nose. Nice texture to this medium bodied port, which comes with a big tannic presence that wipes out everything else this wine has to offer. The fruit is there, but never manages to push the tannins aside. The aftertaste is very dry, like 100% cocoa, leaving furry teeth and hints of blueberry. 85-87/100. Has this wine been over-extracted? 5 July 2010.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
