Any experience on Warre Cavadinha 1996 and SW LBV 1995?

Post by RonnieRoots »

Already having some good VP's in the wine cooler here in Muscat, I thought it would be a good idea to let people bring us some bottles that we can use for casual drinking. I stumbled across these two on the internet:

- Warre's Quinta da Cavadinha 1996 vintage port
- Smith Woodhouse 1995 bottle matured LBV

I've enjoyed the 1995 Cavadinha very much, but never tasted the 1996, and I can't recall ever having tasted a Smith Woodhouse LBV. Does anyone have some experience with these?

TIA!

You can find a TN here for the SW-LBV95. We don't seem to have any TNs for any vintage of Cavadinha

The tasting notes of Warre seem to be a bit scattered in the index. I wrote a TN myself on the 1995 as well, and know that port quite well. I also read the note of Fred on the 1995 SW, but was wondering if there are any other (and perhaps more recent) experiences. But thanks for pointing those notes out Derek and Michael.

Derek, thanks for including it to the TN section.

Ronald, perhaps some suggestion to round out the picture.

The TN indices (alphabetical, date) have been updated hopefully the problems have disappeared.

Thanks Julian.

I've bought 6 of both, of which two of both will soon make their way to Oman. I will, of course post TN's when they are opened.
