Finally a pleasant everyday red

Anything but Port, this includes all wines other than fortified wines (which have their own section) even if they call themselves Port. There is a search facility for this part of the forum.

Finally a pleasant everyday red

Post by RonnieRoots »

In our search for wines of which we actually manage to finish a bottle of, we haven't been really lucky so far. We found a few ok-ish whites but not a single red that it worth mentioning. But last week LadyR came accross Cune Rioja Crianza 2005, apparently a new arrival in the bulk store. A nice, well made and clean wine, with good fruit and a pleasant, but not overly done, toast from 12 months on oak. A lovely everyday drink. I saw on internet that it sells for about ┚¬6,50 in Europe, but we have to pay 6,50 in Rials (almost 12 euro). But given that every wine is overpriced here, that's actually not too bad.

The only disadvantage is that we have to wait until the end of Ramadan before we can buy some more!
