1912 Niepoort, bottled in 1981. Chestnut brown colour, 70% opaque. Decanted 24 hours. A huge vinagrinho nose, savoury and marmite. Hugely acidic, an element of dried fig with the intense savoury marmite flavour searing across everything else. Rich, and incredibly powerful. Such a wonderful intense finish, persistent and with a terrific, uncompromising aftertaste. Brilliant, almost as good as the 1900.  96/100. Drunk 02-Mar-24.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Such a beautiful Port. One of the best I've ever had the pleasure of tasting.
