The 2024 edition of the b.f.t. is being held in Church House, Westminster on Tuesday 23rd April.
As in previous years, it is a trade only event and being a member of The Port Forum is, sadly, not enough of a link to the trade to qualify to visit the show.
Happily, as in previous years, we would be very grateful for some help on the day to run the show, set-up and break-down masterclasses, ferry water / glasses / lunches / anything else exhibitors need and to give a hand for half an hour clearing up afterwards.
Anyone willing and able to work half a day (morning or afternoon) as an unpaid volunteer is then welcome to spend the half of the day not working mingling with the producers and (subject to availability) participating in a masterclass. (We'll also cover reasonable travel expenses from within the UK.)
If anyone is interested, willing and able to work for a full day, I'll happily pay the day rate that is paid to other staff we bring in from outside but your opportunities to mingle with the producers will be much more limited.
If of interest to anyone, please let me know by email or PM. Any and all help will be very, very welcome.
Thank you.

I’m willing to work for half a day, and taste for the other half.Alex Bridgeman wrote: ↑12:19 Thu 09 Nov 2023Anyone willing and able to work half a day (morning or afternoon) as an unpaid volunteer is then welcome to spend the half of the day not working mingling with the producers and (subject to availability) participating in a masterclass. Also willing, as previous years, to make the placemats for the masterclasses. E.g., 2023: Real Companhia Velha; Moscatel de Setúbal; Kopke white; 2022: Poças; Madeira; 2019: Kopke; Sandeman; Madeira; Sherry; 2018: Colheita Madeira; Barbeito; Sandeman.

I'm attending this year for the first time (as a visitor). Looking forward to it and to seeing some familiar faces.
