Talk about anything but keep it polite and reasonably clean.

Wine Quiz

Post by nac »

I think this is pretty easy, but then I wrote it so I know the answers.

Does include a Port question.

Enjoy. Hopefully.

Interesting questions: Am pretty sure of 3/10 and could take guesses at one more, but it would be google answering the rest :)

Yup - 3/10. You're top of the leaderboard!
BTW, it's definitely N, not NN, and I've been extremely fortunate to have helped drink two of them.

I think also 3/10, but maybe 4/10. Six answers were not quite stabs in the dark, but some could be out by a century or more :D

I think I got 4/10. I should have got one more if I had thought a bit harder but it is what it is. I had a couple of close misses (well I thought they were close) and a terrible champagne guess. This was fun to play - thanks.

4/10, a few guesses were close. 10 years out on the Thomas Jefferson and 2 years out on the Sassicia, hadn't a clue on the rest. Won't be asked to any of Neil's pub quizzes. Btw a little etymological question for you all; the word quiz comes from what country?

A few people are jointly top of the leader board with 4/10.

Awaiting efforts from Gillham, Doggett and Bridgeman.

That was fun.

I got two wrong. Out by a total of 4 years across both answers.

Very nicely done Neil.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Alex now leads with 8/10, closely followed by a 6/10 from C&B’s Ed Pilkington.

5 for me and 3 others answered were less than 3 years out, albeit 1 was a guess and the Lafitte and Bacon misremembered.
