1977 Graham

Post by winesecretary »

90 minute decant.

The colour a deep ruby paling only 10% towards the rim.

Dark fruited nose with the merest hint of herbs.

A bit of prune, a bit of strawberry, a load of rather high quality dark chocolate.

Long long finish wandering through a black-fruited version of the interesting vegetation leading down to the river from Edward Heath’s house in Salisbury.

Gosh, this really is cracking port.

+ 12 hours. Already integrated yesterday but a touch more perfectly congruent. Both gratifying, and genuinely sustaining, when you have just attended an interment.

77 does generally seam to be a great year .... Alex & I were talking about organising a 77 tasting next year in one of the empty slots ..... I have a selection of 77 that we could play with :-)
