25% opacity, mature red and amber. Menthol, tobacco and caramels on the nose. Rich, smooth mouthfeel.

Mature mid-red colour, 40% opaque. Gently scented nose, marred by harsh alcohol protruding from the fruit. Nice texture, watery rather than thick, on the palate with rich and mature flavours. Spicy and lively with the fruit comfortably in its secondary phase, showing raisins and sultanas. Very vibrant and lively aftertaste full of aniseed and pepper. This is a pleasant Port, but is drying out a little. 84/100. Decanted 5½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
