1977 Morgan

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Morgan 1977, decanted approximately 1 hour. Brick red, mature in colour; only 40% opaque. Very little on the nose, dried plum and caramel can eventually be coaxed out of the glass. Mature fruit on the palate, redcurrant and burnt sugar but is there also a hint of TCA bitterness on the mid-palate? Powerful acidity on the aftertaste, floral at first and then later dried plum and red liquorice. And then the TCA shows clearly. Shame. Not rated. Opened 13-Mar-23. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
