1995 Quevedo Colheita (bottled 2021)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2021 for day 7 of the 2022 Quevedo prestige advent calendar. This colheita has matured in 4,000 litre tonnels until being bottled. A deep red with an orange tone and a medium rim. A wonderful nose of orange and dates; big, bold and slightly acidic. Smooth texture, rich with generous acidity. A little hot rubber sits under the fruit giving the impression of fruit which is slightly caramelised or perhaps slightly burnt. Powerful acidity, great concentration. Orange shows in the aftertaste, which nicely balances acidity and freshness with dense cinder toffee on the long finish. Delicious.
92/100. 03-Feb-23. Decanted ½ hour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
