95% opaque red rimmed juice
Nose of... pears poached in red fruits syrup. Possibly quinces? No, pears. If there was a cross, like a zorse, that would be the mot juste.
Big bold fruit still, although a touch less blackcurrant than I recall from a half about three years ago. The pear note re-emerges briefly. Then Montezuma's 100% chocolate tannins.
Some star anise and white pepper, late.
This is a really great wine. So much character, and lovely balance. I positively look forward to drinking more halves, at approximately 3 year intervals, to see how it is getting on.
