2004 Messias Reserva Douro Red

Post by DRT »

I had this in a restaurant this evening. Very nice. Smooth fruity and quite a bit of tannin to see it through a few years of development.

Nice, but won't have any more at the wine list price of £24

I've had a few messias wines which are priced at between £4 and £10 pounds retail but I don't know if I've had that paticular one they seem to concentrate more on wine than port.

I have only had 2 experiences of Messias: this dry red and their 1965 VP. Based on those experiences I would say they have absolutely made the right decision if they are focusing on dry reds
