Excellent. Assuming he does come then probably easiest if he adopts the bottle of Sandeman 80 I’m bringing.

It is time to make a realistic judgement. There is no way that, within two weeks of now, I would will be strong enough for this tasting. Sorry.

However, I’m still willing to provide my bottle — it would make it a more interesting tasting. But I’m going to impose a condition: people must take and post TNs. Let me know if people agree.

@ all - nac's guest can't make it. So there are now 2 spare places. Unless anyone wishes to nominate an attendee, I will trim a couple of bottles from the list because 16 bottles between 12 is too much.

The main for yours truly will be the special order rib-eye, cooked rare, with chips and green beans (and if Béarnaise sauce is available, I would say yes please). If Welsh Rabbit is also available (I think it is an off-menu order), please could I have that as a savoury? Thanks.

Assuming I am looking at the right menu, might I please have the soup (or welsh rabbit if they will do that); then the “Beyond Meat” burger with chips; and sticky toffee pudding? If people tend only to have two courses, please crop whichever course tends not to be eaten!

I'll have a very cheesy Welsh rarebit to start, the sirloin from the standard menu (medium-well) + fries + beans/shallots, and the cheese.

Do we have a final list of bottles yet - wondered if I'm bringing 1/2/3?

Thank you.

@ nac - to keep the major names represented I suggest we drop your Quarles Harris and my Royal Oporto. Do you agree?

@ all - could someone who has his email address check with CMAG whether he is going to attend, and let me know, as I've not heard from him recently.

Sorry for the late response.

If ok and not mucking everything up I would love to come but will have to leave before dinner. So about 7.30/8
Very happy with half pours. Will clearly pay my way on the Port!

@ CMAG - will be good to have you there. Non-dining and early departure noted.

@ idj123 - noted re menu. May have missed the boat on the ribeye, in which case I will ask them to substitute sirloin with identical cuisson, but will ask.

@jdaw1 - the first post has now been updated with the final details; I would be most grateful if you could update the placemats file. There will be 14 ports and 12 persons.

@idj123 - your ribeye is confirmed

@HTWH, @akzy - uncle_tom - please could you send me your food orders? The chef has ordered a couple of extra ribeyes just in case.
