Graham’s Single Harvest Tawny Tasting with Charles Symington and VWP
Re: Graham’s Single Harvest Tawny Tasting with Charles Symington and VWP
It looks like we might have to postpone a couple of weeks (or more) as there are some issues with shipments from Portugal to the UK. This has affected a lot of things and unfortunately our tasting packs are somewhere in the mix.
I’m working with Fells and Symington’s to organise a new date and will update next week. We will probably have to nudge Oscars back a couple of weeks for a similar reason.

You are right. I wonder if it is custom-designed as a logo rather than being a full typeface? The G is very close to Adrianna Demibold but the other letters (particularly the M) don’t look much like the rest of that typeface.

I think it’s a wide Gotham.

Boo for necessity for postponement. I vote for having a tasting that evening anyway. We could advance the 'colheita' tasting to that date as an alternative?

I’m having similar problems as couriers here in Ireland are no longer prepared to deliver into GB because of custom delays so I sent a bottle to Scotland by post and that worked albeit at a 30% premium.[It looks like we might have to postpone a couple of weeks (or more) as there are some issues with shipments from Portugal to the UK. You did it right, just missed out the opening square bracket when closing the quote, as in you used "/quote]" instead of "[/quote]".
I've corrected it for you, using my admin powers.

New date will be April 15th just after Easter when Charles is available
Would love to have a tasting on 18th - something Symingtons?
I could ask Charles or Tom if they can make a guest appearance.

This was a most excellent tasting as attested to by JDAW's tasting notes. Five of us had a debate at the end of the tasting regarding which wine we thought was the best; we generally agreed that the '94 is excellent, but that the '63 and '74 were the top two of the wines present, with the '74 winning over the '63 in voting by 3:2 amongst our small group.
For me the '74 was the most intense, while the '63 was incredibly well-balanced and delicious; both are superb wines, as is the '94.
If there were there a further release of the '94 in 10 years time, I would not be at all surprised to find the '94 surpassing both of its elders.

This is the Symington Interview with Tom and Anthony that we recorded to go with the tasting - there are some interesting nuggets in this re 2020 harvest/Covid/future challenges/single harvest etc. Apologies for the plugs at the start.
