Virtual Cross-atlantic tasting

Post by SushiNorth »

I'd like to plan a cross-atlantic virtual tasting at a time that isn't wildly inconvenient for East Coast US and UK.
  1. Would attendees be willing to meet on a weekend?
  2. Would attendees be willing to start on a weekday at 8:30pm BST / 3:30pm EDT ?
  3. Would attendees be willing to meet on a Friday afternoon?

A weekend is tough for me due to family commitments - but it might be possible if during the middle or end of the summer school vacation (ie. by the time Mrs. B has becomefed up with my company).

8.30pm BST / 3.30pm EDT start time certainly works for me, whatever day of the week. I could probably be online for around 4 hours.

Friday afternoon is essentially the weekend, so is subject to the first comment above. Say any time on or after the weekend of 14-15-16 August. (In fact, this weekend would be perfect for me to take part in a weekend tasting since my mother in law is staying with us that weekend, so my wife will have some other company...)
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Since I'm working from home, it's possible for me to join daytime tastings in the middle of the day (Pacific Time). So I would probably be available for an evening UK/afternoon Eastern/lunch Pacific tasting.

Generally any day of the week is equally possible given that time frame, so Friday or a weekend should be fine for me.

I’d be up for this and like Glenn I could make a Friday or Saturday work. Maybe given Glenn’s comments elsewhere, we should re-evaluate the 85s?

I have an ’80 within reach, but not an ’85. We could be approximate.

I should’ve able to do this this Friday at proposed time of 1230 PST (3:30pm eastern). Do advise as soon as possible.
