Go on then, I'll fit the tasting into my diary.

How about the same theme? We never did get round to talking about the Ports we were drinking. Part of what we were hoping to do was to let people experience the weight and power of the LBVs in the market at the moment.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Yes please. I will likely have to drink something different again, but I enjoy the company.

Please sign me up. I posess neither of the relevant wines, so like Glenn I will open something else, possibly moderately festive.

Has a theme been decided? It is my birthday that week so I was considering breaking lock down austerity drinking and opening something I have been saving.

How about a theme for Simon of “1972 or a Birth Year Port, if you can.” Might also work for Neil.

Unfortunately, my ‘72 stocks are not that extensive, so what I have is earmarked for 2022 or beyond. But maybe something like an Fg76 I have been saving or an Aged Colheita. Something to savour more than a recent vintage LBV, but maybe not something that should be shared to be enjoyed properly.

I have a seeping bottle of Ferreira 1963 on death row. I think that's what I'll open next week (unless it gets opened earlier...)

Full disclosure: I have a gently seeping bottle of Dalva 1934, bottled 1973 (my birth year). Since 2 June is my birthday it, like AHB's Ferreira 1963, has a tiny tumbril next to the cork.

My 72 we drank at the RV vertical was my last bottle (of an auction purchase of two full cases) and I don’t have any other 72s. But definitely can do a 70...

Shockingly, despite 1964 being a very pedestrian year for Port, I have a plentiful bounty of birth year Ports in my cellar. It's difficult to find rubies from 1964, but for a few years about 10-12 years back it was quite easy to find tawnies. And then Premier Cru collapsed and was selling 1964 Krohn Colheita Branco on the cheap. So I have a nice supply and can open one on Tuesday.

I can only participate in the first 45 minutes or so (and might be able to come back later) but am about to decant my bottle. In honour of the fact that today was supposed to be the day for the 1960 Horizontal partially celebrating Tom's birthday, I have decided to open a bottle of Noval 1960.
