60% opaque, red rim. Mint on nose. Nice middleweight port, pretty even. But not young for its years (I guessed Cockburn '60; I think only one guess was in the right quarter-century).

The first of six bottles from a case purchased from Laithwaites in 1997.

Decanted 6am on morning of tasting, so 12/13 hours prior to drinking.

Quite pale given relative youth - 60% opaque.
Still lots of fruit on the nose. OK, but felt a bit out of balance.
Scored 3/7.

Not going to rush to drink up the rest, but probably not one for the long term.

30% opacity, clear ruby red.. Slightly musty, stewed nose, even vegetal. Young fruit on entry, a bit "fizzy"?!, slightly one dimensional, soime bitterness on the finish. I guessed to be W91.
