The Standard Food Order

At last night’s dinner we concluded that it would be a good idea to post here each person’s default food order. If you don’t change it, this is what you will get.

If you want to change your default order, check out the menu available from the Boot & Flogger home page.

My default order is:
• No starter

• Special order bone in rib-eye steak (medium-rare) with skinny chips
+ Green beans with shallots

• No dessert
Top Ports in 2018 (so far): Niepoort VV (1960's Bottling), Quinta do Noval Nacional 1994 and San Leonardo Very Old White (Bottled 2018)
2017 Ports of the year: Fonseca 1927 and Quinta do Noval 1927

Starter: Flatbread, lemon & coriander houmous
Main: Rib eye steak (Black and Blue)
+ bearnaise sauce
+ green beans with shallots, or creamed spinach (season dependent, latter preferred)

  • Duck liver pâté;
  • Gammon with everything, including Ian’s egg,
    + Green beans with shallots;
  • Perhaps Welsh Rarebit, super extra cheesy plus plus more.

Starter: Oak smoked salmon with beetroot, orange and horseradish.
Main: Rib eye steak (rare) with skinny fries.
Side: Green beans with shallots.

To be asked for gluten free please.

Been slow to provide this but:

Truffle mac and cheese

Gammon and skinny chips with black pudding but with no egg (to be donated to JDAW if present). A side of the seasonal vegetables (so green beans/spinach etc)

Dessert TBD on the night

With attendance at a tasting now impending again, here is my default preference:

Starter: Truffle Mac & Cheese
Main: Gammon, egg, chips & black pudding

Note: this is from the menu B&F still describe as Spring (in September...)

The default food order has been updated to include everyone who attended the last Cockburn tasting, those attending the tasting on 26th March 2018 plus anyone who has posted in this thread. If you are one of those people please check here to ensure I have captured your requirements correctly.

If you are not on this list but want to be please post your selection in this thread.

Can my main (WS1) please changed from

Medium-rare Sirloin steak with skinny fries + Green beans with shallots

to

Medium-rare rib-eye steak
+ Peppercorn sauce
+ Green beans with shallots

Please may my standard food order be recorded as:

Starter: goats' cheese salad.
Main: sirloin 220g, medium; no salad or gratin potatoes; plus chips, and green beans with shallots.
Pudding: no pudding.
