YouTube of Cockburn Bicentennial tasting

Post by Doggett »

Below is a link to a YouTube post from Jamie Goode from the Symington's Cockburn Bicentennial tasting. It is worth a watch and has a good story of acquiring some 1908 from a person in Norfolk.

Very good to watch. I wish he didn't cut off the Family as they spoke, which I realize would have made a longer video, as I love the historical info. Charles especially had some very insightful things about what state things were in when they took over and of course the overall historical info from Paul which he is so good at reciting.

And that part about the guy with the 41 bottles of 1908, holy cow!

It was a good video; there are a couple of other written reports on the same event around somewhere. Of significant interest to me also was the inclusion in the tasting of a 1969 Cockburn, which I has not previously known existed. Having had and enjoyed the unreleased '45 and '77 at a previous vertical, and with '69 being my birth year (with very little other port from that year), I would very much like to try it one day.

I shall save my TV69 for the appropriate birthday 69 horizontal tasting! I shall leave it to others to make inappropriate remarks about a 69 horizontal! ;-)

The book gained Ck1918 from that video. In round numbers, Cockburn made every year.
