1955 vintage for sale + a few more

Port to sell? Excellent! Please post here, with details of what you have, how stored, and where in the world it is. Please start by reading our ‘Standard advice to would-be vendors' and ‘A note to wine merchants’.

1955 vintage for sale + a few more

Post by StevenHicks »

I love port and long ago put some cases and odd bottles into a friend's cellar not so far from me in south London. However I then developed a health condition that makes me unwell if I drink it  I have had to start 'unearthing it' because he is looking to sell the house.
The first to come out are:
6 x Sandemans '55
2 x Dow '55
1 x Cockburn '55
1 x Taylor '55
2 x Q do Vesuvio '91
1 x Offley '66 = '83
1 x Q do Noval '90
1 x Q do Vargellas '84
Level: The Sandeman bottles levels:
1: Top of royal crest on label (this is the one with a grubby label, because it has had no paper and straw cover unlike the rest)
3: bttm neck1: high shoulder
1: 1/2" above label
Dow: just below bttm neck
Cockburn: high shoulder
Taylor : high shoulder, as are the other vintages
I do have pictures of the 1955s but they are apparently too large to post on here so I am somewhat stuck!
If anyone is interested in any of these please let me know - they need someone who will appreciate them as much as I intended to do!
