You might have noticed that the forum has been mostly unavailable since yesterday evening.
Due to my error when trying to merge two posts I had to restore a backup that was taken at 18:10 yesterday. As a result a problem has been introduced where a number of special characters in posts and thread titles were scrambled. We had a similar problem years ago and it has taken me a few hours to find the solution.
I have now corrected most of the scrambled characters but there will still be lots kicking around. If you see any odd-looking text strings please copy or link to them here so that they can be fixed.
We have tried to capture copies of any posts that were made since 18:10 last night and will restore them as quotes in the relevant threads during the course of today.
