Interestingly, that thumbnail is greyed out for me and does nothing; which explains why I don't see the problem.

Did you follow all the preceding steps? Curious.

EDIT: it's also greyed out for me now that I've disabled the options in the Feed (detailed in my previous message). Unless you set the options up properly you won't see it.

I am now also getting the porn pictures. I can understand why some here would prefer to keep Tapatalk but unless we can find a solution to this we might have to remove it.

I am currently away from home but will investigate when I get back.

This is NOT a platform-specific problem, I'm sure of it. Could someone with a non-Apple device please desist from their smug crowing ( :wink: ) for long enough to follow the instructions above - to the letter (!) - and tell us whether you're seeing the same thing.

My Android device has different options, but rummaging in all the drawers hasn't found anything of that nature.

There's your problem.

I don't use the feed. I use Tapatalk for both TPF and FTLOP and want to read one site at a time, so I use the Profile tab instead.

I do not sign into Tapatalk, so any problems they've had due to hacking do not affect me as I do not use a Tapatalk ID. Tapatalk merely serves as a conduit for the data provided by TPF and FTLOP.

Well, I’ve just learnt what the feed is for.

<Speculation>
The Feed is Tapatalk's way of providing you with content it thinks you might like, while simultaneously providing you with information you've asked it to provide. I come to this conclusion based on my brief experience with the Feed when I upgraded to Tapatalk 4 and it was turned on by default. I don't care what Tapatalk thinks I might want to see, so spent several minutes figuring out how to turn it off. (You can't as near as I can tell, at least not entirely.) But what you can do is ignore it, which is what I do by using the Profile tab (the little head-and-shoulders icon vs the house icon) to do my reading.

Since the feed is generated by Tapatalk, it poses no security issues for TPF or FTLOP. TPF data is presented by Tapatalk in the Feed, but that's it.
</Speculation>

Using Profile by default is easy (at least on Android; I assume it works the same on iOS) - open Settings, and in the first section (Look & Feel) there's a selection for Tab Behavoir. Set that to Profile. From then on the app will open to the Profile tab instead of the Feed tab and you won't have to worry about it again.

The Profile tab lists each of the forums to which you subscribe. Select one to be taken to a list of the unread posts in that forum. Easy peasy.

Interesting. You don't sign in to Tapatalk. I thought you had to sign in. I will try not signing in. But this is irrelevant. There is no way not to get the Feed on an iDevice, even if you switch all its functionality off so the screen is empty it is still the default opening page (even when it's not set to be so).

These screenshots are from Tapatalk 4.10.2. I believe that I have the Pro version as I don't recall seeing any ads, but my subconscious is pretty good at screening out ads anyway so it might be that I just never notice them.

Amusingly, those are 1/16th size screenshots. My phone has significantly higher resolution at 5.2" diagonal (1440 x 2560) than my desktop at 24" diagonal (1920 x 1200).

Its taken me a while to work it out but I am starting to like the new version. My only wish is for access to a 'home' style link as the TPF logo performs.

Hmm... I wonder if it now knows that you have created an account, so no longer gives you the option to simply login to each website separately?

That might work, but odds are that your account is linked in some way to your iTunes account so Tapatalk would likely still know once reinstalled.

I have set the tab behaviour to "Profile" so am now able to ignore the problem. However, that doesn't mean the problem has been resolved.

Happiness has not yet been achieved.
