1. Reply notifications currently come from what appears to be Alex K’s real human email address. They should actually come from something that doesn’t mention a human’s name.

2. Is it possible to be notified automatically of new threads? That facility would keep things moving nicely.

I certainly support Julian on point 1 above - I think automated messages should come from a system rather than a real user account. Now that you have the domain name is it possible to set-up email accounts like admin@theportforum.com or does this incur additional expense with your host?

Derek

I think admin is a person.

I think admin is a person. post-alert@… would be my preference.

It will be sorted in time. Remember we set this up in about an hour on Wednesday. I would prefer not to have my e-mail address sent to all and sundry as well.

I wasn’t criticising; merely suggesting.

No criticism taken, I understood. It's good policy, it should have changed now.

Not sure about new threads as that could result in a lot of e-mails. I'll take a look.

Can't see anything in Administration that facilitates this JDAW, I will have a look at support for phpBB tomorrow.
