Germany; Memories of a nation.

Post by LGTrotter »

BBC Radio 4 is doing a series presented by Neil MacGregor, a director of the British Museum on objects representative of Germany's history and development. I have found it addictive and instructive. I am aware of most of the objects and people discussed but I had never thought about how they fit together or what they mean. We have several Germans regularly on these pages and it sounds like it's kind of complicated, but exhilarating.

If you're into this stuff, have a listen.

It is good. As a contribution, I have tonight uploaded my 'History of Germany in 100 Tasting Notes'.

AW77 is interested in seeing the accompanying exhibition at the British Museum the morning following the BBR Port Walk, if anyone would like to come along.
