Where would I get empty imperials and tappit hens?

Talk about anything but keep it polite and reasonably clean.

Well, that's it really.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure this is meaningless drivel; sounds potentially rather sensible.

Tappit Hens are difficult to get hold of. I understand it is not a regular size so any production is bespoke and expensive. Imperials (I assume you mean 6 litres) are a regular size although produced only in small quantities.

Fundamentally you have only two choices: buy or beg empties from those who might consume the contents of full ones, or find a friendly bottle manufacturer who will allow you to buy a few from the end of a production run.

Or ask Daniel. He seems to know a wide variety of people with different skills - perhaps one of them will be a skilled glass-blower able to make a few bottles as a commission.

I have eight empty double magnums at home. And if your cause was really worthy, two more could be recovered from The Bung Hole.

Actually in a slightly altered state last night I became sure that the 15yo Verdelho was a bit too sharp and that the 15yo bual and malmsey much too sweet. I concluded therefore that I should blend my own and thought that the traditional 5 gallon demijohn would be a bit pricey to fill. But somewhere between 3 and 8 bottles would be fine. In the cold light of day I feel less sure.

Blending Madeira. And I thought you would do an experiment with port and elderberries. :)

Why don't try these 5L demijohns:
