Anybody watching Wimbledon?

Talk about anything but keep it polite and reasonably clean.

Anybody watching Wimbledon?

Post by KillerB »

It's great, isn't it? All that banter and stories about how the last time it was this bad was 1982, footage of people with umbrellas and ball-boys getting caught in the covers. Brilliant... so much better than watching tennis.

I used to watch a lot, but the last couple of years I've mostly ignored it. Don't know why actually. The irritating thing about Wimbledon is that the final weekend always interferes with the first weekend of the Tour de France.

Has Cliff Richard sung a song to entertain the rain-soaked masses yet?

That's always my favourite bit of wimbledon :?

Tennis has never done it for me.
I also cant get my head around how they give out equal prize money.
I live in a Politically Correct World, and I'm all for equality and freedom of opportunity. If Womens Tennis turns out to be a more entertaining game, and worthy of more prize money, by the interest it generates, excellent.
To me, though, it is an inferior product over a shorter game, yet it hides behind the Mens Tennis, and takes the cash. Not the greatest way of advancing the core principles of equality that we strive for!

Luc,

Don't start thinking about the Jamaican bob-sleigh team, you'll never get to sleep

Very few courses. They are trying to build loads now, but it was considered against the working class ethos until recently. Now sleep your head off! :D
