67 is correct.

Julian was surprisingly close with his intial guess considering that a) I have only ever purchased 1 case, b) I can't recall ever purchasing 4 at once, and c) by far my dominant purchase habit is a pair. Of course, if you make a sufficient number of repeat pair purchases, you end up with 6-packs and even cases occasionally.

Re the previous question: the first person to guess (me!) guessed 65, and the right answer was 67. I don’t feel embarrassed.

It was a remarkably accurate guess, which leads me to believe that a 1:3 ratio of different to total bottles must be somewhat normal. I thought it seemed really high, especially considering how most people here seem to purchase by the case, but evidently not.

Also, after posting the quiz, I went back to CellarTracker and discovered that it wasn't actually counting different Ports, but different bottles of Port. So the three instances in my cellar where I have both 750s and 375s of the same Port were counting twice. Ergo an equally valid answer could have theoretically been 64, in which case your guess would have been even closer.

We did actually start and finish in different boroughs but the vast majority was in one - that's the one I want.

Lancaster - presumably a borough in Lancashire and also presumably at least part of the Lancaster canal runs through the borough of Lancaster thus allowing a walk from close to the home of someone who lives in Lancashire, with the walk being along the canals.

When I said I started in one, did the majority in this one and finished in a third - guess what the beginning and finishing boroughs were. Take a look at a map of Lancashire, see if there is a canal between the beginning and end and see what the borough in the middle is.
