Christ no. I'd rather swim the turd-filled Channel. Think high-brow. And then think higher. This man is on TV! Sometimes...

No, can't be, he said it was west of Holborn. It must be Croydon then.

This man is a critic. But of things, specifically. He was once a restaurant critic actually. Maybe he still is. AA Gill liked his book.

This is a hilarious thread. Definitely a good side-tracking from my boring studying (yes husband, I am studying and not lurking on this forum).

Not Giles Coren. But you are the closest yet.
He is an Englishman but he lives in Marseille. There is a very particular reason why he lives in Marseille, and it is centrally connected with what he usually writes about.

Not that nice Michael Winner.

No.

Another clue. He writes about a very specific and significant branch of design. This is connected with his living in Marseille.

Jonathan Meades! Indeed. He lives in Le Corbusier's Unité d'Habitation in Marseille and his new book is called An Encyclopaedia of Myself. I am looking forward to it.
