Greetings!

Post by AWGH »

Greetings redoubtable Port Forumers!

I am a new member and would like to introduce myself. My name is Anthony Habert and some of you may already know me as the soon to be erstwhile UK marketing manager for Sandeman (amongst other things.....Mateus *ahem*).

In a few weeks' time I will be moving on to pastures new as head of beverage services for Cunard and P&O (Carnival UK). For any future questions relating to Sandeman, etc. feel free to contact chris.appleby@sogrape.pt (I introduced him to AHB last week).

Thank you for allowing me to join this noble institution.

Anthony

A very warm welcome, Sir.

It is good to have you here in a social capacity and we look forward to enjoying all those cheap cruizes. Presumably Cunard will only be serving Port from double magnums for the forseeable future? 88)

Yes.

And I took the opportunity to read the obvious book. And no, she wasn’t.

Is this a discussion forum for Julian's relatives? If aunts are to be discussed shouldn't we be asking about Anthony's aunts?

Welcome, and all that sort of thing. Is there a port related back story as to how you got into port? Were you a foundling left on the steps of the Factory House with a bottle of Noval 31 tucked into your basket?

I suppose not.

Welcome to TPF and delighted to have you here in a social capacity. When do you become independent of the wine trade? Should we organise a celebratory offline to welcome you?

I know that I have no interest in adopting children. Perhaps I’m insufficiently Hollywood.

But if a foundling were on my doorstep “with a bottle of Noval 31 tucked into” the basket, well, what to say? other than “I can resist everything except temptation”. Foundlings just aren’t what they used to be. The World is going to rot, and it might even be our fault.

Blah blah when we ran the world blah blah when New York was ours blah blah all foundlings blah blah 1931 Noval blah blah don’t do your arithmetic squabbling here we have a different thread for that blah blah.

The LinkedIn/JobTrain job advertisements say Southampton: will you be moving there?
