Dewar's World of Whisky

I went to Dewar's World of Whisky at the Aberfeldy distillery today. It was a nice tour and a very modern and well presented museum followed by a tasting of six Whiskies: Dewar's 12 Year Old, Dewar's Signature, Alerfeldy 12 Year Old Single Malt, Aberfeldy 21 Year Old Single Malt and two single cask samples from 1988 and 1994.

Somewhat surprisingly my favourite was the Dewar's 12 Year Old, which is a blend of malt and grain whiskies. Next was the Aberfeldy 12 Year Old. I found all of the others to be a bit disappointing, particularly the Dewar's Signature which was on the shelf at £175 a bottle!

An interesting afternoon but my conclusion was that I don't really like Dewar's or Aberfeldy whiskies. Just not to my taste.

What a sacrifice then, and in the name of science too. Well done. See you on Tuesday.

It was indeed a sacrifice. My parents on one side with Mum despairing at Dad throwing six whiskies down his neck in twenty minutes and the in-laws on the other side with m-i-l chastising f-i-l for attempting to do the same. The Brownie points have been well earned.

Wow. Oldietastic. You've earned a break.
